Medicago was founded in 1995 and is a privately-held company, operating throughout the world. Our laboratories are beautifully situated in the countryside on the outskirts of Uppsala, the University City, 65 km north of Stockholm and 35 km from Arlanda, the Stockholm airport.

Ever since its start the company has been steadily developing, both product wise and economically. Our production follows GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards. We are certified according to ISO 9001 since 2004.

Our areas of expertise comprise biochemistry, immunology, virology, parasitology, microbiology and chemistry.

Medicago is a specialist in developing new purification processes for a wide range of biomolecules and biochemicals. This includes an extensive experience of fermentation and down-stream processing from laboratory to large industrial scale. We are recognized for producing biochemicals of the highest obtainable purity. We would also be pleased to assist new partners in developing their products and concepts in this area e.g., assays, diagnostic and chemical kits. Thereafter, production is possible with our modern equipment in our laboratories. We can even offer distribution and marketing of your product.

Our customers are mainly found in the areas of biotech and diagnostics. We can count many well-renowned, large international enterprises among our partners and we highly appreciate cooperating with smaller customers.
